Here is the simple version: your domain is your street address, like yourbusiness.com. Your website is the building people see at that address. A standard small-business website can be custom coded without renting a website builder every month.

For many standard information websites, hosting can stay at $0 within normal usage limits. The $50 care plan is optional if you want ongoing help.

Your domain provider charges to keep your online address registered.

> GOOGLE_READY.CHECK
Google does not rank a website higher just because it is custom coded. Google looks for many of the same things your customers want: helpful information, clear pages, a good phone experience, fast loading, security, and a site that is easy to understand.
Clearly explain what you do, where you work, when you are open, what makes you trustworthy, and what the visitor should do next.
Useful page titles, simple headings, readable links, and sensible page names help both people and search engines understand the site.
Text should be readable, buttons easy to tap, and pages usable without zooming or sliding sideways.
Compress images, remove unnecessary code, and load the most important content quickly so people do not leave before the page is ready.
Normal links, useful descriptions, a sitemap, and clean technical setup help Google discover and understand the pages.
Secure pages, working forms, accurate business details, readable colors, image descriptions, and keyboard-friendly controls build trust.
The important image or information should appear quickly. Google calls this Largest Contentful Paint, or LCP.
When someone taps or clicks, the page should react without feeling stuck. Google calls this Interaction to Next Paint, or INP.
Buttons and text should not jump while the page loads. Google calls this Cumulative Layout Shift, or CLS.
